Since we win over our ego. . .It's worth
it. An incident in Michelangelo's
life....
A piece of art, whatever form it may be reflects the artist.
Once Michelangelo was engaged in painting Jesua Christ while working in the
Sistine chapel. The work was close to completion with just a few strokes of the
finishing touches.
However the great artist was dissatisfied as the completed
look of Jesus would not emerge. He found that the visage of Jesus lacked the
softness and femininity that would actually bring the work to the desired
completion.
On an inward reflection, he came to understand that he had fought
with one of his friends and that the bitterness still lingered within him. He
suddenly remembered the words of Christ that when goes to pray with bitterness
towards another, one has to first rush to his friend and seek his forgiveness
before indulging in prayer.
Michelangelo immediately rushed out of the chapel
and sought the forgiveness of the friend, clearing even the least trace of
hatred. He then pursued with his painting. Jesus then emerged beautifully in
his work of art as his heart was in complete tune with the work.
