There are plenty of emotions that we feel on a daily basis, but have trouble explaining to others. There are more words to describe how we feel than "angry," "happy," and "sad." Hopefully this collection of words will help, express ourselves in a way that we usually can't.
1. DYSANIA
Dysania is "the state of finding it hard to get out of bed in the morning." There's a similar word, called clinomania, that is "the desire to stay in bed."
2. ADRONITIS
Don't we hate how long it takes to build friendships? Well, adronitis is the "frustration with how long it takes to get to know someone." If we just wish we could skip the smalltalk with strangers and actually get to know them, then this word will help us explain our feelings.
3. LIBEROSIS
This is "the desire to care less about things - to loosen our grip on life." If we hate how much we care about our someone's opinion, or about the way our eyebrows look, then we're experiencing liberosis. We just wish that we were more carefree.
4. JOUSKA
This is "a hypothetical conversation that we compulsively play out in our head." Everyone is guilty of doing this. It's like a psychological battling cage....happens when we fantasize about dating our crush or daydreaming about being interviewed by Oprah.
5. RUBATOSIS
Don't we hate when we suddenly start paying attention to our breathing or our blinking? Rubatosis is "the unsettling awareness of our own heartbeat." Even though it's a bodily function that is constantly happening, being aware of it can become highly irritating.
6. MONACHOPSIS
This is "the subtle but persistent feeling of being out of place." This occurs when our friends treat us like part of the group, but we still feel like we don't belong. There's no reason for us to feel excluded, but we still do.
7. NYCTOPHILIA
This means we "find comfort in the darkness." If we'd rather be alone in a dark room than in a bright room full of people, then we can explain our preference with this word. It hits the nail right on the head.
8. FINIFUGAL
This means, "wanting to prolong the final moments of a story, relationship, or a journey." If we hate reaching the end of a long vacation, then we can use this word to describe how we feel. Even though endings lead to new beginnings, it's never fun knowing that something we love is coming to an end.
9. ZENOSYNE
The Sense That Time Keeps Going Faster.
